The Cinncinnati Zoo and Botantical Gardens have two orangutans, one male and one female. Both are Sumatran orangutans and are housed with the gibbons in the Jungle Trails exhibit.
Lana is the female orangutan. She was born on January 26, 1985. She is now 28 years old. She is a gentle and loving great ape. Recently a gibbon in her exhibit had a baby. Lana was following the mother and child around to investigate and hopefully to get a chance to play with the baby.
